DOCUMENTED IN UTON SPECIFICATION
EVM COMPATIBILITY
Post-quantum security without abandoning the EVM ecosystem.
An organization acquiring UTON does not need to create a completely unfamiliar developer environment.
An organization acquiring UTON does not need to build a completely unfamiliar developer environment. UTON extends the Ethereum Virtual Machine rather than replacing it, so existing Solidity contracts, tooling, and developer skills transfer directly. The post-quantum cryptographic layer is exposed through precompiled contract interfaces — invoked from ordinary Solidity — so quantum-resistant logic is reachable without a new language or a new virtual machine.
What carries over unchanged
Ethereum Virtual Machine
An extended EVM execution environment — existing opcodes, gas model, and ABI semantics behave as Ethereum developers expect.
Solidity
Smart contracts written in the familiar Solidity language, including the latest compiler versions.
Web3 tooling
Compatibility with standard Web3 developer tools — ethers.js, viem, web3.js, Foundry, Hardhat, and Remix.
Wallet integration
Existing wallet infrastructure — MetaMask, WalletConnect, hardware wallets, and account-abstraction paymasters — carries over.
RPC interoperability
JSON-RPC compatible interfaces (eth_*, net_*, web3_* namespaces) for drop-in client support.
Contract deployment
Standard deployment workflows — bytecode, ABI, constructor args, and verification — work as on Ethereum.
What UTON adds
PQC precompiles
ML-DSA, SLH-DSA, and ML-KEM exposed as precompiled contracts callable from Solidity.
Agent identity layer
On-chain primitives for registering and resolving autonomous agent identities.
Machine payments
Native support for x402-style HTTP 402 negotiation and per-call settlement.
Verifiable compute hooks
Interfaces for TEE attestation and zkML proof verification inside contract logic.
Hybrid signatures
Dual classical + post-quantum validation paths for gradual migration.
Developer migration
Minimal friction for Ethereum developers — no new language, no new VM, no new toolchain.
The migration path
- —Ethereum developer keeps their existing Solidity skills and toolchain.
- —Contracts deploy to UTON using the same bytecode and ABI they already produce.
- —Where quantum resistance is needed, contracts call the PQC precompiles like any other precompile.
- —Wallets, indexers, and front-ends connect over the same JSON-RPC they already speak.
- —Migration is incremental — a portfolio can move contract-by-contract without a flag day.
MIGRATION PATH
Ethereum Developer → Existing Solidity Skills → UTON EVM Environment. No new language, no new virtual machine, no new toolchain to learn.
